On the internet, many people like to pretend that there’s a “secret formula” for making money online. But in truth, no such thing exists. If you market your business everyday in a consistent manner, you will see results, traffic, and sales as time goes on. There’s only a few certain ways that you can get lots of targeted traffic to your website, and all of these ways aren’t mystical or magical at all.

One of the most underrated form of marketing online is backend marketing. Many newbies listen to the hype that the gurus are preaching, and they think it’s all about getting new traffic immediately, and just making money on the front end. However though, this view of marketing is completely wrong.

When the gurus online have their 6-figure product launches, they don’t get their traffic from new people. Almost 98% of their sales come from the people who are on their email list. Either these people are subscribers, past customers, or both. For a while the guru will inform their list about a new product that they are about to launch, and they tell their list to look out for it.

They build anticipation, and when the product finally launches, their list members buy their product immediately. This is the core of how to make a product launch successful, but you should know that the magic lies within the list. In fact, ask anybody who’s making money online, and they will tell you that the money is in the list.

Now obviously a list of existing customers is more profitable than a list of free subscribers. The more you mail to both of these kind of lists, the more money you will make. The more you grow both of these lists, the more your income will rise on a daily basis. Some people will buy immediately from you, and others will take months before you get them to buy.

Nevertheless, you should still be targeting your backend customers, because this is where the profitability lies. You should even mix in a direct mail campaign to increase your revenue from your backend marketing efforts. Anybody will tell you that by mailing a simple letter or a simple postcard to your existing customers – will increase your conversion rates by a huge amount.

If you don’t want to do direct mail, that’s fine. There’s always other things that you can do to make more money in your online business. I just wanted to include that in there so that you could see how you can earn more money from your marketing efforts. If you don’t want to do direct mail, make sure you do email marketing like a champ.

Focusing on your existing customers will help you to have the online business success that you are looking for in your business.
